NABLA Beyond Jelly Lipstick Swatches (x9)
is a formula that debuted earlier this year that is supposed to have sheer to medium, buildable coverage that has a balm-like application. There are 10 shades in the range, but I managed to purchase one shade twice instead of all ten shades (missing the shade Ardor, FYI) — so here are swatches of nine of the 10 shades!
I’ve been really curious about these, thank you for swatching them! They remind me of Revlon’s glass shine lipsticks. I hope Ardor is similar to Sparkling Honey because I’m almost out of it and they’re discontinued.
These certainly look beautiful for summertime or for whenever one may not want a super pigmented and matte/satin lip! I’m liking almost all the lighter shades, plus Blooming and Solstice.
Yes, Solstice, like warm clay!
I’ve decided I am not really a fan of jelly lipsticks because I think they would last a nanosecond on my lips.
Although these look to be quite good and the colour array is varied.
Took me a while to wrap my head around how “dea” wasn’t a reference to a certain (oppressive) governmental agency
Nabla is an Italian brand. Dea means goddess in Italian!
I really love these lipsticks and have used them all (I bought all ten shades upon release as they were all 20% off then) pretty much exclusively since. They are the perfect in between a lipstick and a gloss. They are very buildable pigment wise so you can get a quite saturated application as well as a thin layer or lighter stain if you will. They are not super glossy nor super buttery. But more a gel like lipstick with a bit more resistance which prevent them from going on patchy or uneven. They also hug the lip well and stays on fairly well given its formulation. As they do not slide around all over the place on the lips.
I do however find that the colours have more diversity than what shows up on Christine’s images here where they all look a lot more pink and light compared to reality, I find the reds and oranges are more red and orange and the lighter shades are more saturated and mor nude brown leaning and not so much light peach or pink leaning as they look here. I think they may be hard to swatch for photography as I guess bright light tends to make them look more transparent than they do appear in real life and more common lighting settings.
Anyway they are great for more mature lips or lips that do not use fillers to smooth them out as this is a forgiving formula on textured lips.
(I also use them on my cheeks and eyes for a monochromatic glossy look).
I have Nocturna and it’s amazing! Such a good formula, it’s sheer but you can build it up. And it lasts!
