We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Okay, so when I first tried the Sydney Grace formula (especially the shimmers), I really didn’t care for it. But I grew to absolutely love and appreciate the brand. The more I use my SG palettes (I have several now) the more I love them, and two of my absolute favorites in my collection are Tiny Marvels and Quintessence.

I can’t think of any makeup, but I’ve changed my mind about a few fragrances. I used to love Mon Guerlain. But a couple of months ago I bought the absolutely sublime Jicky, and now Mon Guerlain seems too basic and linear next to it. On the other hand, I have a bottle of Miss Dior 2017 that I regretted buying almost immediately when it came out. I haven’t worn it in years, but I decided to put some on last night, and I’m suddenly in love with it!

I had a somewhat similar situation with Mon Guerlain. I love the EDT, now discontinuated, so I decided to buy the EDP and hated. Revisiting the scent, I’m now in love.

Also:

MAC Sudio Finish Concealer: After being a favorite for years, I had a pot of it just sitting in a drawer and decided to wear it, and wow. My skin loved it. It worked well even in my under eye area.

Powder bronzer: lately I’m all about cream bronzer, but a favorite ran out so I decided to wear my Benefit Hoola. It had been years since I last used and now I’m wearing every day LOL.

Liquid Highlighter: same situation as the above. My favorite cream on ran out and I decided to shop my stash. So now I’m using my liquid Nars Copacabana (so pretty) and my Becca Ignite Liquid Highlighter ih the shade Passion, that I bought during those last sales with Becca’s products, but never really wore it after buying. Now I’m loving it

No – wait – let me correct this. It has to be the DIOR BLUSH(es). The original Rosy Glow Awakening Blush (that’s what it used to be called when it was the only colour available) is probably my all time favourite blush. It truly is perfection on my fair-toned skin. Dior makeup products are an indulgence and feel like a bit of spoiling for me (especially their highlighters, foundations of the past and this blush). But they’ve ruined yet another product in their lineup and it is really disheartening to see such a pricey but worth-the-spend product go down-hill so badly.

My summer weather go-to foundation, MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof because I have noticed that it has a tendency to oxidize within 10-15 minutes of application. Just have to mix up cocktails of my 3 shades into something a shade lighter than my skin at its various seasonal changes in anticipation of that metamorphosis! Adding in a little Strobe Cream or another creamy liquid highlighter helps offset that effect. Just wish that in 2023 foundation and concealer formulas would have already been created to NOT do that whole oxidizing thing by now, especially across Mid thru Luxury end brands!

Matte blush ā€“ I canā€™t remember the last time I reached for a matte or powdered matte blush.

Liquid, cream, balm, putty and gel powder or hybrid formula blushes- loving these new formulas lately and like wearing alone or layering.

Liquid eyeshadows – these are great for all over my lid, and then I just add a shimmer on the mobile lid. Iā€™ve been mixing some colors to create a unique base shade, and Iā€™ve been using them on my cheeks as well.

Lipstick. Was a time I loved a good satin, make a statement lipstick. Now, Iā€™m fine with a sheer pH balanced Frog Prince type of natural, effortless and pretty color
