Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Highlighter and bronzer. Neither work for me. I still have my Dior highlighter that I bought years ago but I can’t seem to toss it out lol. I also had tried Benefit Hoola….used it once and hated it….kept it for a while then threw it out. Highlighter just makes my skin look too glowy because we live in such a humid tropical climate, and bronzer just makes my face look dirty.

Not sure of your skintone/undertone but I’m vampire pale with a cool undertone and had the same problem with bronzer. I don’t tan so it took me forever to find one that didn’t look fake or dirty and even now, I’ve only found 3 that work; Guerlain’s Terracotta Healthy Glow 00 Light Cool, Gucci 01 and Marc Jacobs Tan-tastic (now discontinued). All 3 have a slightly cool pink undertone that gives a natural post sunburn look, not a dirty brown or orange cast. I’ve also used Bareminerals Kiss of Pink blonzer to get the same effect.

My most unused products seem to be mostly foundations…..I bought a really nice Ko Gen Do foundation that I liked the formula but I ended up thinking the color was a little light, so it goes unused! The same goes for several other foundations I have….being happy with the color or how it l sits on the skin and then changing my mind. They are always coming out with better formulations that are more skin like, so some older ones just go unused.

My first knee-jerk response to this question was “Ha! Everything!” since it all seemed like must-haves. Having so much stuff means most of it does not get used as much as it should.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. Mine has Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light. I do sometimes use the middle one as a powder to take down greasiness without removing shine, but none of the powders impress me or do much of anything IMO. Also, so many large palettes! I’m starting to realize that I really prefer a smaller palette with around 6 shades and 2-3 looks. I have hooded, deep-set eyes and mostly do natural looks.

The Lisa Eldridge foundation. I’ve loved every product I’ve purchased from her brand, starting with the first Velvet Matte lipsticks, and when I saw she had a shade that seemed to match my NW10 skintone, I ordered it on release day. It took me 2 months to try it and while it’s nice, I just don’t reach for it. I think the poor packaging is one problem, since I have to keep the bottle in its box as it doesn’t stand up and tends to roll off flat surfaces, but it just didn’t wow me like I expected. Overall, it was a bit of a let down, especially at $60+, and I’ve probably used it less than 5x in the 2 yrs I’ve had it.

Highlighters. I have quite a few (Dior, Laura Mercier, ABH, MAC, KVD, ColourPop, Wet n Wild), but I hardly ever use them. If I’m doing really glamorous evening makeup, I might use either the Dior or Laura Mercier—very sparingly—but I never use the others.

So many over the years Dr🙄

Smith & Cult’s foaming primer – I discovered that I generally do not like foaming or primers (unless we’re talking about eyeshadow primers).

Chanel “blurry” eyeshadow quads

The whole collection of anything – I really should be more strategic with in just choosing a few colors that I like instead of the whole dang release.

Bright colored blushes, thinking that I would “use and diffuse”

Bright colored or editorial eyeshadows/palettes
