Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Your skin tone/coloring: MAC NC 20

Oldest lipstick in your collection? MAC Hello Kitty Little Bow

Newest lipstick in your collection?
Bobbi Luxe Matte Lip in Nude Reality

Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? I really disliked the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche and not a fan of Colourpop Glowing Lip. One to thick & heavy. The other not shiny or glowy imo

Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair

Oldest lipstick in your collection? It’s a Laura Mercier lipstick in Discretion (discontinued a long time ago). This was my favorite for several years and I went through several tubes. When it was discontinued, I kept an almost-empty tube to see if I could find a dupe. I never found an exact dupe, but I still have that almost-empty tube.

Newest lipstick in your collection? I did a flurry of Back-to-MACs right before they ended the program, and I think the last one I got was Mocha, which I love.

Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? MAC Jean Genie. I thought I could use it as a mixer. Nope. Waste of money. It was tossed into the Back-to-MAC pile pretty quickly.

Oldest lipstick in your collection? I have an Estee Lauder lipstick from the days when Karen Graham was the “face” of EL. Either it or the blush from the same collection was called Datenut Red. It’s a gorgeous browned red shade and it’s more than 30 years old but I keep it in hopes that I will find a dupe for it (I haven’t so far!!!)
Newest lipstick in your collection? Probably Smashbox Stylist (I was hoping it would be close to MAC Craving; it’s a nice lippie but it ain’t no Craving)
Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? Maybe UD Love Drunk “Comfort Matte” lipstick. The colour and the name – divine! But the feel on my lips….no comfort at all!

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, brown hair.

Oldest lipstick in your collection? Probably my Bite Beauty Luminous Crème double sided lipstick in Tangerine and Lingonberry. They still smell/taste just fine and they’re fun summer shades that I love. I miss Bite Beauty and the Luminous Crème line.

Newest lipstick in your collection? e.l.f. O Face Satin Lipstick in Dirty Talk. This line is so good! Though expensive for a drugstore brand. But also worth the price lol.

Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? I forget exactly what line it was, but I believe it was a Maybelline liquid lipstick formula they had out years ago, and it was not only streaky and sticky, but it also balled up in the middle of my lips. It was awful.

Skin tone/coloring: Neutral, leaning warm

Oldest lipstick in collection: NARS Dolce Vita, which I’m surprised isn’t more used up TBH

Newest lipstick in collection: Gwen Stefani’s Stomp Box (sample size) which was in a Sephora collection that I purchased during the sale. I like it, but it’s nothing extraordinary so I’m thinking it will last just long enough for the line to go out of business before I use it up.

Least favorite lipstick: It’s impossible to remember all the bad lipsticks I’ve bought, but the most recent was YSL’s Nu Transgression which was a beautiful color but caused a massive allergic reaction. I discovered the problem too late to return it, which was annoying, but luckily it’s a beautiful color on my BFF.

Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)

Oldest lipstick in your collection? Either Rimmel Airy Fairy (long DC ‘d!) or Revlon Pink In The Afternoon…both are heading for the trashcan as soon as I finish this survey!

Newest lipstick in your collection? Hourglass Creme Satin lipstick in Cypress or MAC Story Of Home? Not sure which one I purchased first.

Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? Definitely KVD K-Dub!

YOUR SKIN TONE/COLORING:
Under my name; medium dark brown hair with red undertones and threaded with gray; hazel/green eyes.

OLDEST LIPSTICK IN YOUR COLLECTION?
Oh, boy… I think Max Factor Creme Rouge 537. Embarrassingly old, if it isn’t the oldest.

NEWEST LIPSTICK IN YOUR COLLECTION?
ColourPop Lux Lipstick in Lioness.

LEAST FAVORITE LIPSTICK YOU’VE EVER PURCHASED?
I don’t remember the name, but it was an OG Melt matte bullet lipstick in a dark purple. The color was way different than promo pictures and the formula was so unbelievably dry. It was one of those old mattes that you had to warm up on your hand first. I was so pissed off considering how much it cost that I never wore it.

Oldest lipstick in your collection? Two Tarina Tarantino Lipsticks (Conditioning Lip Sheen formula) in Cameo and Penny Arcade. Cameo is the best MLBB shade on me and I cannot find an exact dupe. I have bought so many variations along the years hoping that one might come close to it. No success.
Newest lipstick in your collection? Givenchy in Cherry Blossom (Spring 2023 Limited Edition).
Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick (I can’t remember the shade). I think I purchased it four years ago. Not sure if it was the formula or a bad batch, but it was so sticky once applied (in a thin layer) and after I let it dry, that it felt like I had glue on my lips. Unfortunately, I had to throw it away.

Skin tone/colouring: Fair with neutral undertones.

Oldest lipstick in my collection: YSL Rouge Pur Couture 11. Beautiful shimmery nude, first lipstick I ever got, and I can’t declutter it.

Newest lipstick in my collection: Armani Lip Maestro Liquid Matte lipstick in 522 Desert: such a gorgeous pinky nude (I have a whole collection of other colours too, I swear!)

Least favourite lipstick: one of the new Hourglass lipstick in Dahlia. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful reddened pink that was comfortable and moderately long-wearing, nothing wrong with it in particular except that it left a vivid fuschia stain I couldn’t get rid of for almost two days.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Oldest lipstick in your collection? I would say it would be Clarin’s Jolie Rouge Red Terra – bought several years ago when I was having trouble finding a red that didn’t turn pink on me. I now use the Shiseido Visionary Gel lipsticks instead.

Newest lipstick in your collection? That’s easy! My CP Party Mix lipstick – which arrived a couple of weeks ago.

Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? There’s been quite a few over the years, but I think an EA lipstick in what I thought was a coral red, but turned out to be a frosted pink….my DIL loved it.

Your skin tone/coloring: above
Oldest lipstick in your collection? I know I still have Guerlain Chant d’Aromes (103) Rouge Automatique Lipstick because it was my FAVORITE for so long!!!
Newest lipstick in your collection? Maybelline Witty Vinyl Ink!
Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? oh gosh it doesn’t even deserve for me to remember its name (and I don’t) but it was probably like a $2 bright pink lipstick back in middle school

Your skin tone/coloring: Above, grey green eyes, dark brown hair.
Oldest lipstick in your collection? I actually don’t have a clue. I have a lot of really old ones that still perform as if they were new.
It’s either a Dior or a Chanel one, I think it might be a LE Chanel, that is too dry to use, but I keep it because I know how much I loved it. It’s a rich red and it came in a black slim case, it launched at the same time as a very golden gold eyeshadow that I also still have. I’m not even going to guess how old these products are.
Newest lipstick in your collection? I think it’s MAC Nippy’s Sensual Red.
Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? I think it was an Illamasqua matte lipstick in a dark red.
In theory I loved it, applying and wearing it wasn’t something I enjoyed, it was so drying and it tugged a lot. It also make my lips look like raisins. Not flattering. The colour was lovely though.
I tossed it a long time ago.

Oldest lipstick in your collection? MAC lipstick in Betty Bright from the Archie’s Girls collection. It’s 10 years old, yikes.
Newest lipstick in your collection? Rare Beauty Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick in Confident. Finally, a matte liquid lipstick shade that doesn’t look brown on my lips!
Least favorite lipstick you’ve ever purchased? Don’t really have one since I always try before I buy. Closest one I can think of Fenty Stunna Lip Paint but only because I don’t like the applicator.
