Natasha Denona Yucca Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Yucca
Natasha Denona Yucca 15-Pan Small Eyeshadow Palette ($69.00 for 0.67 oz.) includes a mix of olive-toned neutrals paired with pops of orange and teal. It also includes a new formula (“Sparkling Foil”) that is a very sparkly, high-shine metallic eyeshadow with minimal fallout. I was surprised that the palette wasn’t more versatile, as I find ND does color stories quite well, but this one has a lot of overlap. The shades Acacia, Tipu, and Citrine kind of run together, and I’m not sure why there was a more mid-tone and medium-dark green–something not quite forest green but not as yellow/olive-toned as Tipu/Acacia. The quality was excellent, though, for all of the shades; they were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing.

Formula Overview
-
The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.
The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.
Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

I’m on a no-buy currently, but this is really pushing the limits of temptation for me. Such a beautiful color story.
Love Natasha Denona’s eye shadows so I really did a lot of research before buying this palette because this color story isn’t my favorite. Love golds but the green yellows sometimes make me look washed out. Glad Yucca scored an A rating. I’ll probably end up adding this one to my collection soon. I saw a YouTube video on with a lady with an olive skin tone and it looked like this palette was made for her!
Hands down, this is one out of my two favorite ND palettes that I own! Lila is the other. On Monday, I used Citrine for my blown out transition, Tipu to add dimension to my inner crease, Calathea for my outer 2/3 crease, outer lid and along the edge of my lower lashline after first using Citrine blown out, Komorebi innermost lid, Plantasia over the entire mobile (and a little above) middle lid. I was shocked by how my eyes took on the exact color of Calathea! And VERY pleasantly surprised by both how easy it was to get this look and how breathtaking it looked once done! 🪴🌻🌱
